Cleaning Your Cassettes

  • Wash your hands or wear gloves when handling plates to avoid contamination and plate staining.
  • Never use hand lotions or sunblock cosmetics prior to handling plates.

Intensifying screens should be cleaned periodically according to the manufacturer's instructions. Screen cleaners are ideal for removing dirt, dust and fingerprints and should be done regularly. In dryer climates or the wintertime when there is less moisture in the air, static can become a problem. Antistatic solutions add moisture back to the screens. Using screen cleaners and antistatic solutions, which are usually combined together, can help to prolong a screen's life and increase efficiency.

Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions when cleaning a phosphor screen or plate and call RC Imaging to purchase the appropriate cleaners for your cassettes.
